Tryouts

Tryouts are held annually in late summer. Players are evaluated on hitting, fielding, throwing, running, and overall game awareness by experienced coaches and program leadership.

Team Selection

Our goal is to field competitive teams at each age level based on player evaluations and overall participation. Not all players who try out may be selected.

Selections may be based on:

• Tryout performance

• Skill level and game awareness

• Attitude, effort, and coachability

• Prior experience (if applicable)

Roster decisions are final once announced.

Season Commitment

Commitment varies by age and coach, but typically includes:

• 1–2 practices per week

• Local league play

• Multiple weekend tournaments

Younger players may be encouraged to participate in both travel and house programs. Older age groups generally focus on league play and tournaments with no house requirement.

Off-Season Training

Optional off-season training may be offered during the fall and winter depending on the team and coach. Training schedules vary by age and facility availability.

Uniforms & Equipment

Uniforms are provided by the program, with styles determined by age level and team approval. Players are responsible for their own basic equipment, including a glove, bat, helmet, and appropriate protective gear. Safety equipment is strongly encouraged.

Do players have to live in Lake View to try out?
No. Tryouts are open to all interested players.

How many teams are offered per age group?

When will we hear about roster decisions?
Most teams announce rosters the same day or within a few days of tryouts.

Is travel a big time commitment?
Yes. Travel baseball and softball require a higher level of commitment than house programs.
